How to crochet a amigurumi star I´ll show you in this simple crochet pattern. The crocheted stars are beautiful plastic and not just a great decoration. With thicker yarn you can crochet this way a great star cushion, for example for small and large 😉 children.

Crochet Pattern: Amigurumi – Crochet Star
We crochet the amigurumi star from the middle to the outside in spiral rounds. We start with the centre and then we crochet the jags of the star.
Crochet Amigurumi Star Centre (2x)
The centre for the amigurumi star we crochet form inside to outside in spiral rounds with single crochet stitches (US!). You can freely adjust the size of your star by crocheting more or less rounds for the centre. It´s only important that both centres are the same size!
In the last round you place marker threads between the increases. That means you crochet the first stitch of the increase, put in a marker thread and then crochet the second stitch of the increase.
Attention: Don´t offset the increases , because the need to be exactly on top of each other.

- 1st round: magic ring + 5 single crochet stitches (US!) = 5 stitches
- 2nd round: double every stitch = 10 stitches
- 3rd round: double every 2nd stitch = 15 stitches
- 4th round: double every 3rd stitch = 20 stitches
- 5th round: double every 4th stitch = 25 stitches
- 6th round: double every 5th stitch = 30 stitches
- 7th round: double every 6th stitch = 35 stitches
- 8th round: double every 7th stitch = 40 stitches
- 9th round: double every 9th stitch = 45 stitches
- etc.
- cut the thread, pull off the loop

Crochet Amigurumi Star Jags (5x)
Start in the middle between the markers of the first centre with 1 slip stitch and 1 chain stitch. Crochet now with single crochet stitches (US!) into each stitch one stitch until you reached the marker thread.
Now follow as half as many chain stitches as it has stitches between two markers, as you can see in the stitchtable above. Here we have 4 stitches between two marker threads, so we crochet always 2 chain stitches.
Now you put the second centre next to it and crochet with single crochet stitches (US!) into each stitch one stitch from one marking thread to the next.
It follows again the same number of chain stitches, as for the first connection. Now crochet again single crochet stitches (US!) into each stitch one stitch starting at the marker thread up to the beginning of the round. You should have reached the correct number of stitches for the first round of a jag, as shown in the stitch table above, here 16 stitches. Take a look that nothing got twisted before you continue crocheting.
Continue crocheting in spiral rounds an crochet in each round 2x two stitches with 1 single crochet stitch (US!) together. That means the stitch count will decrease in each round by 2 stitches.
The smaller the round get, the clearer the tips will form. You are finished when there are only 4 stitches remaining in your round. Then you can cut the thread generous, pull off the loop, close remaining opening, secure and weave in the thread end.
For all the other jags you do it the same, but now you only need to crochet chain stitches on one side, on the other side you can crochet into the bottom edge of the neighbouring jag. Your star is now growing jag by jag.
When you have crocheted 4 jags for your star, you can fill and stuff it. Before you finished the last jag of the star, you need to fill and stuff completely.
Finish Amigurumi Star
After you secured and weaved in all thread end you can decorate your star as you like. With thicker yarn and a very big centre you will get a nice star pillow for kids.
Tip: You will find here also a pattern to crochet a moon. With both patterns you can crochet a beautiful “moon and stars” mobile.
