Tutorial: Make a Slipknot with the Crochet Hook
In the following tutorial I will show you, how you can make a slipknot with the crochet hook. For this you can find here detailed photos for each step with extensively descriptions.
First draw your crochet hook from left to right below the thread and pull a loop around the crochet hook. Now catch also the thread on the left side of the loop …
… and hold both ends with your thumb and index finger. Now draw the thread with your crochet hook …
… and pull it through the loop. Turn the hook a little bit downwards, to beware the thread from jumping down the crochet hook.
Hold on fixing both thread ends and pull through the new loop completely.
Now both threads are twisted below the crochet hook and you should remain holding them fixed.
Then fix the twisted point below the crochet hook with your thumb and index finger. Draw the thread again and pull it through the loop.
Now there is a knot below the crochet hook. It is adjustable and you can pull it off and together. Pushing it a little bit upwards with your fingers, will get the knot tight enough.
Congratulations!!! You made your first slipknot with the crochet hook. It´s used as a first loop, for example to crochet chain stitches.
